I went to the beach today, too! You ordered a pizza with my favorite toppings the other night, and you went to the beach today like me. I knew there was a reason we were soulmates!

I'm going to put aside my feelings of intense envy that you are so close to the beach and tell you how gorgeous those pictures are. Lol. No really, they're beautiful.

The polka dots and the sunshiney-shoes are killing me (in a good way!)
Sundays used to be family days–going to the beach to eat Bhela nd Kulfi on Chowpathy or sundal on Marina. The one memory that I carry vividly about Marina beach in Madras was the fountain at the end of Edward Eliots Beach. The family ritual was to drive around it three times….it became a clock tower when my kids grew up. Today you try going to Marina in the evening–you wont get car parking space, you will trip over vendors, trippers and all kinds of people. My Sunday is sitting in my home listening to wonderful music–right now it is Jagjit Singh and Chitra singing Jaya, jaya Madhava Murari–and trying not to let my nerves get frazzled as India plays West Indies in World Cup…and eating home boiled fresh peanuts!!

It’s been nothing but insane rain here for a week. I am very jealous.
