Fragmented Fridays

My mother is visiting and I don’t know if it’s her or me, but we aren’t driving each other crazy.

For those of you that don’t know, my mother has a thick accent, which causes my husband quite a bit of confusion. She also jumps from one subject to the next with impunity. Here is a sample of a conversation she had with Unknown Papi.

Mi Mami: Ay forget my charger! Djou have  charger?

Unknown Papi:  Charger? (looks at me confused)

MM: For my phone. Ay need charger.

UP: Uh, let me see your phone…yeah I think we have one that will work.

MM: (hollers) Chihii!!! I so lucky! Chiiihiii! Que suerte! (What luck!)

pause

MM: Een San Diego they happy becoz Chargers weening.

UP: Huh?

MM: (Loudly this time) Een San Diego they happy becoz Chargers weening.

UP: (Looks at me bewildered) Chargers are winning?

Me: (laughing hysterically) She is trying to tell you that The Chargers football team has been winning and people in San Diego are happy about it.
MM: That’s what ay say.

UP: Oh.

The Confused Homemaker tagged me! Fortunately, her tagging requires no graffiti removal. I’m supposed to tell you 7 things about myself, but I feel like I’ve already told you everything so I’m upping the ante! I’m going to tell you seven things about myself in 7 words for every “thing” and I’ll be doing it while sipping a seven and seven.
7 in Seven with a Seven and 7
1. My head is unbelievably big. No, really!
2. My tongue can fold into a clover.
3. I do not have a middle name.
4. I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
5. I need a break from my responsibilities.
6. I feel tired, stressed, and just deflated.
7.  My husband is younger than I am.

Recently, I revealed my powers as a Useless Psychic and answered a few questions. Well in case you need further proof, I woke up on Thursday and told my husband that there would be an earthquake because I dreamt it. Later that day there was an earthquake and he sent me a text telling me that he was having a hard time getting to work because it had slowed down public transit.

How many male bloggers do you know or follow? I’d venture to say you probably follow or know far more female bloggers. Well my friends keep in mind that diversity is the spice of life. I’ve shared some of my other male blogger crushes with you before. Today, I would like to share my most recent male bloggy crush (don’t worry ladies, I’m still crushing on you and always will).  Meet Meeko, he’s fabulous! Over the holidays we collaborated on 12 Days Latino Style. Do yourself a favor, visit him, follow him! You won’t be sorry.

Have a great weekend!
