Unknown Mami: I don’t have anything to write about for my post tomorrow.
Unknown Papi: Write about how awesome I am, how I’m so funny, and hard working, and gorgeous, and…
Unknown Mami: And modest.
Unknown Papi: I’m joking…write about how for $10 I can come up with really good blog names.
Unknown Mami: What are some of the blog names you’ve come up with?
Unknown Papi: “Mommy May I?” and … I can’t remember the rest.
Aren’t fears odd? I feel like I fear so many things. Some fears protect us and keep us alive, but some are just a useless burden. I would love it if my daughter never suffered from any pointless fears, but already it has started. She suffers from stickyplasteromaphobia, the fear of band-aids. She hates them. Her grandmother sent her a box of band-aids with Dora on them and another with Hello Kitty and you would think they have pictures of the Satan on them, she is so afraid of them.
My husband has a cut on his left hand that requires the use of a band-aid. If he tries to touch my daughter with that hand she starts to shake her head no and get all teary-eyed. I think she thinks band-aids give you boo-boos as opposed to just covering pre-existing boo-boos.
Are you familiar with the Bart Shooting Trial? The verdict was read today and it’s all over the news here. Former BART police officer Johannes Mehserle was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of Oscar Grant. The shooting was recorded on video via cell phone. You can look it up on You Tube. I was going to link to it, but it’s very upsetting and I don’t want to be responsible for exposing anyone to it.
Many businesses in Oakland closed early so that employees could go home. So far there has been no violence or rioting. I hope things stay peaceful.
And that’s all she wrote!
