1 to 4

by UnknownMami on August 30, 2011

I was one and then you came along and we became 2.

2 was the best until we were ready to become 3.

3 was phenomenal until we wanted more, so we became 4.

4 feels just right.

And for years I thought I was bad at math.
How’s your math?

I’ve got Something for your Feet!

by UnknownMami on August 29, 2011

So I haven’t really blogged much about what it was like for me to go to BlogHer ’11. It was my first blogging conference and I have to say that I truly enjoyed it. I wasn’t able to attend as many sessions as I would have liked because I was wearing Luna Pie most of the time and she was fine when I was walking around, but not so much when I stood or sat still.

The best part of the experience for me was meeting other bloggers. So much fun. I was able to recognize some of them, but since I didn’t wear my paper bag to the conference I was pretty incognito. You see how this paper bag serves me well? It keeps me in hiding when I wear it and when I don’t wear it no one knows who I am.

Now let me tell you about the Expo Hall. Wow! It was packed with booths and goodies of all kinds. I saw products that I was familiar with and some that aren’t even on the market yet. In hindsight because I was wearing a 6 month old most of the time, I probably should have just gotten an Expo Hall pass instead of a full conference pass. Live and learn.

One of my favorite booths was Dr. Scholl’s. I’ve been a fan of Dr. Scholl’s ever since I was in first grade and got my first pair of Dr. Scholl’s Original Exercise Sandals. I loved them so much and somehow I was able to run and jump rope in them. Even now I own pairs in red and blue.

The folks at Dr. Scholl’s sent me on my merry way with a pair of Fast Flats.

They are these cute ballet slipper looking flats that come in a snazzy gold wristlet carrying case. They are rollable, compact, and comfy. You can keep them in your purse or car and switch out of your “not so comfy, but cute” party or work shoes.

Once I got back home, Dr. Scholl’s got in touch and said they would like to give away 3 pairs of Fast Flats to my readers, one in each of the following sizes: 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10.

But that’s not all, since not all of my readers are of the female persuasion, they are also giving away one pair of Custom Fit Orthotics.

The winner of the Custom Fit Orthotics will need to get fitted at a kiosk – located nationally. You can type your zip code in here to find a kiosk near you.

So here’s how you enter the giveaway…

Mandatory Entry: Leave a comment telling me what size Fast Flats you would like if you win or tell me you want to win the Custom Orthotics. If you would like to be eligible for both the Fast Flats and the Custom Orthotics just tell me you would like to be included for both.

Fragmented Fridays

August 25, 2011

According to Unknown Papi I should write about how my husband is the best in the west, but not necessarily the east. I could write about that, but not with any authority because he’s the only husband I’ve ever had so I have no one to compare him to. I’ll just tell you that I’m [...]

My Version of Hell

August 24, 2011

All agents are busy assisting other customers. An agent will be with you as soon as they are available. Repeat countless times until the tinny drone becomes more familiar than your heartbeat.  Finally get someone on the line that transfers you to another department because although they understand your frustration they can not help you. Where I’m From

August 22, 2011

I am from here and there and a few places you’d never want to visit. I am from loud voices en Español talking over each other and broken English spoken to make the non-Spanish speaker feel comfortable. I am from food so delicious you’ll keep eating even when you are full. I am from laughter [...]

2 Reasons why Mountain View, CA Rocks

August 22, 2011

Mountain View, California rocks as far as I’m concerned. I could be just a tad bit biased. You see I was born in Mountain View, so I guess that’s part of why I think it rocks. Here’s another reason: For $6 you can get $12 worth of frozen yogurt at Yoogl Yogurt Cafe. Deal runs [...]

Here’s the Deal…

August 19, 2011

Growing up first generation American comes with many ups and a few downs. I can go on and on about the ups, for example… I can speak both Spanish and English with ease. I value diversity. I can understand people that speak English with accents (almost any kind of accent because I’m patient, listen, pay [...]
