Just Say No to Internet Explorer

by UnknownMami on February 27, 2012

I try to keep things positive around here, but every once in awhile I let myself rant. Today I’m ranting about Internet Explorer. That browser drives me crazy and likes to make my online life harder than it needs to be. I broke up with IE a long time ago and good riddance, I say. Still so many people still use it that I can not be completely free of it. I use it at work and I use it to check that this blog is working appropriately for those of you still on IE. I say “still” because my hope is that someday you will explore your browsing options and move on.

This is not my actual rant, my anti-IE-rant is at Aiming Low. Please stop by and give it a read. I am not a techie by any means, but I don’t think you need to be a techie to see the flaws in IE.

I’m Not Always Funny

by UnknownMami on January 31, 2012

Perhaps you’ve noticed that I truly value humor? If you want to butter me up, tell me that I’m funny and you will have me wrapped around your little finger. I always say that if I were a superhero, my power would be the ability to make others laugh. It seems I don’t have to be a superhero to be able to do that. I’m fortunate enough to be able to inspire chuckles and laughter.

There are however some subjects that are just not funny. No matter how much I turn them over and try to find the humor, there just isn’t anything there to laugh at. Does that mean that I never tackle those subjects? No, of course not.

Today, at Miss Unlimited by Aiming Low, I am sharing something that is not funny at all. It is a difficult subject for me to discuss, but I think it’s important. I originally wrote the post in October and called it, Life is not Always Easy. It has taken almost 4 months to actually have the courage to publish it and I’ve changed the title. I would really appreciate your support as every time I think about the subject matter, I feel as vulnerable as a 10-year-old girl. If you have a moment, please stop by and read Men Should Not Kiss 10-Year-Old Girls. A kind comment would be appreciated. Thank you in advance and I promise to be funny again very soon.

Miss Unlimited

by UnknownMami on October 27, 2011

Growing up female in a man’s world is tough. At least it was tough for me and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone. So many of the messages you get when growing up female are not empowering, that’s why I was thrilled when Aiming Low asked me to write for one of their newly launched channels: Miss Unlimited.

Miss Unlimited is about helping young women and women in the making feel unlimited about the future. Please stop by and read A Conversation with my Inner Critic, my first contribution to this wonderful channel. I want my daughters and all daughters to feel unlimited.

Finally…

by UnknownMami on October 12, 2011

I’ve been dying to tell you about my new gig and today is the day I finally get to tell you. Are you ready? Aiming Low has taken me on as a writer and I couldn’t be more excited.

My first post debuts today and I would be ever so grateful if you would stop by and show me some love. I’m nervous and don’t want them to think they’ve made a huge mistake in hiring me. Pretty please click HERE and let them know I’m worth my weight in paper bags.
