I am sobbing right now because I stopped by a blog that I have been following for a long time, The Good Cook. This blog is written by a wonderful cook and a delightful woman. Today when I stopped by, I did not expect to be greeted by the news that her beloved husband has passed. This was sudden and unexpected. All I know of this man is what she has shared on her blog and her love and admiration has always been palpable.
Life is full of unexpected turns. They have been building their dream home on this idyllic piece of land that they bought- so excited to realize this dream together. We just never know what the future holds.
Please, please stop by and leave her some kind words. I have found this blogging community to be so wonderful and supportive. Please reach out to this lovely woman even if you have never come across her before.

I started blogging in April of this year. My daughter was about 8 months old. I felt lost. I didn’t know my place. I couldn’t hang out with friends at night like I used to. I couldn’t even talk on the phone for more than a few minutes. I turned to blogging because I needed a way of expressing myself and what I found was a community. Without even knowing what I was looking for I found it. I found you and it has been my pleasure getting to know you.
Every time I come across a wonderfully written new to me blog, I get excited and I want to share that excitement with others. I belong to a bunch of blogging communities that help me find bloggers, but still I long for something else. I want something content driven that showcases bloggers without having to dig through the site. I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, but I did find Nancy from if evolution really works and it turns out that she has been looking for the same thing.
Since we couldn’t find it, we decided to create it. Today we are very proud to announce the birth of our baby!
