apps

Fragmented Fridays

by UnknownMami on April 8, 2010

Awhile back I shared some phone apps I may or may not have invented. I say may or may not have because I don’t actually research to see if they exist before I share them with you. Anyway I have a few more that I’ve come up with that I think might be useful:

  • Taser app: pretty self-explanatory, it turns your cellphone into a taser
  • Find the Nearest Public Restroom app: If you are like me you’re always on the look out for the nearest public restroom. This app gives you locations and rates them by cleanliness in case you want to go in barefoot à la Britney Spears.
  • The Gaydar app: in case you don’t have an internal one or yours is broken.
  • The Lose 10lbs, Gain 10lbs photo app: It makes you appear 10lbs thinner and everyone else appear 10lbs heavier.
I finished reading “The Road”. The book sat on a shelf waiting to be read for the longest time. I was convinced that I wouldn’t like it based on the description. I kept putting it off until I had nothing else to read. Guess what? I liked it. Now I’m reading “Lovely Bones”. I tried reading it before, but couldn’t get past the horror of the beginning. I had to give myself time. After reading “The Road” I felt like I could go back to “Lovely Bones” and get to the beauty behind the horror.

I can cook, but I don’t very often because I’m lazy and I’d rather eat the yummy food that my husband makes, but today I made something for my daughter and it is pretty darned good. She loves carrot cake and she has been eating a lot of it lately because we bought some for Easter. We’re out of it, so I decided to make her a healthier version. I made it with carrots, zucchini, summer squash, apple sauce, and flax seed meal. It tastes great and she’s getting some veggies she wouldn’t eat otherwise.

Speaking of veggies, I am on a mission to eat more vegetables. Any suggestions? What’s your favorite vegetable? How do you prepare it?

I’m looking forward to spending some time with a wonderful friend tomorrow. I don’t get to hang out with friends very often and it’s so good for the soul.

My one year blogiversary is coming up on April 17th. I want to do something to commemorate the event and thank you for being a part of this wonderful journey. Stop by on the 17th and say hello. If you’d like to give me a blogiversary present I know the perfect thing: leave me a comment! Even if you are someone that doesn’t usually comment. Help me celebrate my blogiversary week by commenting!!! A Mami can never have too many shoes or too many comments.

And that’s all she wrote!

Have a great weekend!
