Bobby Brown

Fragmented Fridays

I share bits and pieces of myself with you here and what I get back is so much more. For my odds and ends, you give me a sense of wholeness, a sense of belonging, of being accepted. Every time, I share something that feels a little too personal, you come back with assurances, support, and understanding. I traded in a sense of isolation for a sense of community and no matter what happens to this blog, I will never lose that because I now know how many wonderful people are out there. You are out there and I will never forget how much you’ve given me. Thank you!

I have a wonderful husband. It’s true. I could go on and on about all of his virtues, but instead I will tell you that I am petty. Yup, even though my husband is a wonderful human being, I can find a way to focus on the inconsequential everyday irritants. I do not like this aspect of my person; it does not make my life a better place. I find that the less time I spend having fun with my husband, the more time I have to focus on the minutiae.

I’ve been complaining because we haven’t been on a date for months. He kept saying, he didn’t have any money and I said, I didn’t care if we only went for a walk, but that I needed to spend some time with just him. Well, we finally went on a date on Monday and it was great. We had such a good time that he agreed we really need to make spending time “alone” together  a priority. It’s really necessary because the more fun we have as a couple, the less petty I become.

Over 1 million children are affected by lead poisoning. If your home was built before 1978 visit LeadFree.org to learn what steps you can take to prevent lead poisoning. The home where I live was built in 1897. Isn’t that crazy?!

Do you like musicals? You probably do, most people seem to and they are big money makers on Broadway. I  myself am not a fan of most. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part musicals just don’t do it for me. I wouldn’t buy the cast recording because I don’t really want to sing along to songs from musicals. This weekend we were watching the Tony Awards and saw that Spiderman The Musical is coming to Broadway. Really?! My husband, who is also not a fan of musicals came up with an idea for a new musical that we would both actually watch. Wait for it…

The Life and Times of Bobby Brown
From Crack to Comeback?
Think about it! The music is already written. Bobby Brown has got some catchy tunes: “Don’t be Cruel”, “My Prerogative”, “Every Little Step”. I’m just saying it sounds at least as good as a musical about Spiderman.  At least Bobby can sing, I’m not sure that Spiderman can.

And that’s all she wrote!

Have a great weekend!
