I am the Top Blog of the Week at Speaking from the Crib! It is always nice to be recognized by your peers.
I think we should all keep a notebook where we jot down our accomplishments, compliments we receive, random acts of kindness and the like that have come our way, that way when we are feeling really crappy about ourselves we can just flip the book open and be reminded of how great we really are. It’s far too easy to remember all the negative crap, but for some reason we let go of the positive almost instantly. At least I do. Maybe you are better at that sort of thing.
Do you ever think about dirt? Have you ever felt like dirt? The truth is that dirt is a precious commodity and we need to start treating it as such. I watched the film DIRT! and I have a new found respect for dirt/soil. I won’t lie, at first watching the film I felt overwhelmed like we have done so much damage to the soil (the Earth’s skin), but I ended up feeling truly hopeful and knowing that I can do my best and that will most definitely help. Without dirt, we are nothing.
My daughter is amazing. I don’t write about her much because well she’s mine and I’m sure you won’t find her as amazing as I do, but every once in awhile the proud Mami in me is bound to come out. She is starting to say more and more words and the sound of that little voice is as precious as dirt (see above paragraph). Yesterday she said, “Momo”! I know, right? She is obviously a genius. She is 19 months old and saying, “Momo” with no prompting from me! …Wait, you don’t know what “Momo” means? Seriously? Come on! It means, “Elmo”. She is saying, “Elmo”, but “Momo” is so much cuter. She’s a genius!
It seems that bloggers are dropping like flies. Perhaps it goes in cycles, but I’m noticing a lot of bloggers “retiring” lately. What’s up with that?
I love having “followers”, but it can make me so damn neurotic. If I notice a drop in the number, I feel like I’m going through a mini-break up without the “it’s not you, it’s me” conversation. I have to remind myself that I am a delicious slice of moist chocolate cake. Sometimes people are in the mood for lemon meringue, but that does not mean that I am not a delicious slice of moist chocolate cake. I hope you’re in the mood for chocolate cake. Come on, take a bite.
And that’s all she wrote!
Have a great weekend!
