Unknown Papi: Babe, how do I make (fill in the blank with something he is perfectly capable of making on his own without asking me)?
Unknown Mami:You’re a man figure it out.
Put Pie (she’s 3): Noooo, he no man…he a papa!
Unknown Papi and Unknown Mami burst into laughter.
Wisdom from a 3 year old. What’s the saying?
Out of the mouths of babes oft times come gems.

I grew up without a father and never once felt deprived because I had no idea what I was missing.
Now I know.

One of the greatest joys in my life is watching my beautiful daughters being loved, protected, celebrated, and cherished by their father.

He will always be the very best choice I ever made for them.

Happy Father’s Day from San Francisco, CA to all the wonderful fathers out there. The world is better because of you and so are your children.
I showed you mine, now show me yours.

Don’t you hate it when your tomatoes go and grow mold flattops before you get a chance to eat them?

P.S. Unknown Papi looked a lot like this tomato when he was in the 7th grade.

What is up with my husband? I swear he is going out of his way to make me fall in love with him all over again. Yesterday, I wrote about one of the reasons why he is perfect for me, it involved him deciding that trying to join the Masons was not for him. Well, today he sent me a copy of the thank you email he sent and I am so darned proud of him I asked for permission to print it.
Thank you so much for inviting me to the lodge. I had a nice time and everyone was kind and friendly. After my visit I gave the idea of joing some thought and decided it was not for me. The issue I have is that it is a fraternity. I knew this going in but didn’t realize the cost of this practice until I left. I just can’t be part of any organization that excludes anyone based on sex, race, sexual orientation, etc.
The Masons helped my family by fixing my brothers legs at Shriner’s Hospital and I will never forget that. The Masons do great work and I hope they can continue to do great work for another 400 years. And, maybe, just maybe, one day they will consider the openheartedness, courage, and brilliance a woman can contribute.
Sincereley,
Unknown Papi
I love him. Seriously, reading the last line of his email makes me cry. I married the man who wrote, “And, maybe, just maybe, one day they will consider the openheartedness, courage, and brilliance a woman can contribute.” Sigh…my husband the feminist.
