I went computer-free for the Thanksgiving day holiday. I spend quite a bit of time on the computer and I have to steal that time away in bits and pieces, but on the holidays I don’t want to be distracted. I want my family to know that I am choosing them and the present moment over anything else. The rest of the time…SCREW THEM! I’m kidding! You know I’m kidding, right?
We had a great time even though things didn’t go according to plan. Originally, we had planned on having dinner at a relative’s house in Sacramento, but the girls got sick and were still quite under the weather on Wednesday so we decided to stay home. Since we hadn’t planned on having dinner at home we weren’t prepared to make a turkey with all the fixings, but we got it together enough to make ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pumpkin pie. It ended up being a delightful holiday spent at home enjoying each others company, eating too much food, watching football, movies, and a Charlie Brown special.
I have a new post up at CafeMom, Top 10 Holiday Crossover Traditions, and another one at Miss Unlimited by Aiming Low, Thankful For, I realize you already have a million things to read, but I would greatly appreciate your love and support at those venues. I feel lucky to be there.
I’m hosting a giveaway for The Family Storybook Treasury. It is a great collection of children’s stories and includes an audio CD. Please stop by and enter if you are interested.
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
